Thunderstorm 2026

Thunderstorm!

Yes, I love thunderstorms.
They’re so incredibly beautiful, and I often have a great view of them from our apartment!

So far this year, we’ve seen two really great rainstorms.

June 19, 2026: a heavy shower with high Cape values that, strangely enough, came right from the coast. The forecasts had predicted it would come from the south. The first shower began near Medemblik, after which it literally moved inland from the coast.

June 27, 2026, Storm 2. These were two strong cells in quick succession. The first arrived around 9:30 p.m. It was a heavy storm that really kept going. Beautiful lightning flashes and strikes.
The second one came after midnight, and it was even heavier. However, there was so much rain in this storm that I quickly ran out of time to take photos. I was blown off the balcony, and the rain caused water to back up through the drain even here on the 5th floor!
