Arjan Troost Birdhouse 1

In the past year, I have been increasingly involved in photography above water.
My old hobby from prehistoric times, back then with a Praktika MTL3.
Just taking the camera along, a beautiful piece of nature, or to Schiphol Airport. But also the zoos and, for example, the carnival parades.

This week was the 2nd time a bird hide was scheduled with Mieke.
This time a cabin at Arjan Troost Bird Huts.

We had booked this cabin a 6 weeks ago and with my luck, storm Pia was thinking of throwing a spanner in the works!
When we went out the door at 6 a.m. it was already raining nicely and the wind was also blowing well. But despite the outlook, we left in good spirits, armed with camera, lots of coffee and sweets!

At 8:15 a.m. we were at the cabin and set up our gear.

Less than 5 minutes later, despite the darkness, rain and wind, the day could not be better!
The first kingfisher showed up!

And so it went on all day, kingfisher, sparrow, chaffinch, great tit, buzzard, crow, blackbird, pied woodpecker and squirrels. What a life there is at this cabin, to be enjoyed!

We had our eyes wide open until 3:30 p.m., and really, you can’t look the other way for a second. It was Enjoyment, yes with capital G!

The next cabin is already planned! Mieke, thanks for the fun and this new addiction!
